The shoulder is a complex joint that allows for a great range of motion.

Many orthopedic problems may occur at the shoulder. It is vital to perform a thorough exam to address underlying problems. Muscle imbalances may occur and allow for humeral head slippage on its attachment (labrum) to the shoulder blade (scapula). Shoulder pain caused by rotator cuff (supraspinatus) tendonitis is common among laborers, week-end warriors, and active females. Bicipital tendonitis occurs in the front of the shoulder. Capsular problems may cause a wide spectrum of symptoms. Old acromioclavicular (AC) or sternoclavicular (SC) joint sprains / strains can cause chronic pain if the joint has never fully healed. These disorders can usually be reversed with regenerative injection therapies, with the patient often making a complete recovery.

The most common problems of the elbow are golfer's elbow (medial epicondylitis) and tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis).

Both are caused by repetitive or acute strain of the forearm muscle tendons, and both may cause chronic discomfort upon performing everyday tasks such as combing hair and shaking hands. Intradermal administration (mesotherapy) of circulation stimulants and / or concentrated tendon tissue nutrients can be performed for epicondylitis to restore the elbow to a pain-free, normal tissue condition. An exercise prescription to balance local musculature should then be addressed to prevent re-occurrence.
